For Children that Qualify for a Special Class Inclusive Setting (SCIS)

In New York State children receiving special services are recommended for a particular program model by their school district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). The specific elements of the child’s individual Education Plan are based on the results of their evaluation, with input from previous providers. If a child is turning 3 and transitioning from Early Intervention services, the assigned Service Coordinator will guide a family through the process.  Jowonio’s program model is a Special Class Inclusive Setting (SCIS) with three different lengths of day.

For children qualifying for a SCIS please see the link below to fill out our interest list form. Please note this is an interest list only and does not guarantee placement. Thank you for your interest in Jowonio.

For questions please call 315 445-4010 ext 149 or email Emily.Vercelloni@jowonio.org.

For Children Who Do Not Receive Special Education Services

Typically developing children attending Jowonio pay tuition on a sliding scale based on family income.

Tuition is waived if a Syracuse City School District (SCSD) resident and registered as Universal Pre-K (UPK).

Some scholarship funds are available for families residing outside of SCSD.

Please note that this is an interest list only.  It does not guarantee eligibility for enrollment at Jowonio.  Enrollment will be determined after providing additional information about your child if/when invited to tour the school.  All enrolled students begin in September and tours will be held during the previous winter/spring.  Parents are strongly encouraged to seek alternative preschool or child care options now in the case that we are not able to offer enrollment.
