Celebrate Jowonio funds critical needs for in-class inclusive education for 150 families. Our mission to provide educational access to all students regardless of ability is thriving 55 years after our founding.
In 2024, our Strategic Planning process is poised to lead to new initiatives. With the help of sponsors like you, Jowonio opened the Albert F. & Susan Antonini Sensory Room, provided Augmentative Communication devices to 23 students, and added new staff to serve a diverse and wider range of students in 2023.
Jowonio School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We operate as a licensed daycare and preschool serving ages 2-5 years old. Our current enrollment is 157 students from 23 school districts and four counties in Central New York. Jowonio’s mission is to provide model inclusive programs for young children, where diversity is celebrated and all are free to learn and grow.
Jowonio is dedicated to creating innovative educational settings where children of all developmental, communication, mobility, and sensory abilities are full participants, encouraged to reach their potential. We offer a wide range of therapeutic and family support services. Our school also provides training and development for teachers, therapists and parents in collaboration with educational institutions and community agencies for comprehensive special needs education.
Lastly, Jowonio is an advocate for the inclusion of all children in schools and in society.
